European Commission Blue Book Traineeship 2025 (Fully Funded)


Are you ready to spend 5 months in Europe? Each year, the European Commission offers a 5-month paid traineeship. Applications are now open for the European Commission Blue Book Traineeship 2025 for the March session. This traineeship is open to all EU citizens, with some positions available for non-EU nationals. The program will take place at the European Commission’s Traineeships Office in Belgium and Luxembourg. Preference is given to applicants without previous work experience.

The European Commission covers all expenses, making this a fully funded traineeship program. Undergraduate students or graduates with a bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for the Blue Book Traineeship. Some spots are also reserved for students enrolled in a master’s degree program. According to the EU Commission website, 650 people from around the world were selected out of 2,500 applications.

Financial Benefits

Applicants who join the Blue Book Traineeship Program in Europe will have all expenses covered by the EU Commission, including:

  • Monthly allowance of €1,376 per month, paid at the end of each month.
  • Reimbursement of visa costs.
  • Reimbursement of medical fees.
  • Coverage of travel expenses (airfare tickets).
  • Note: Accommodation expenses are not covered.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to all EU citizens, with a limited number of seats for non-EU nationals.
  • Must have completed a standard 3-year higher education degree.
  • No prior work experience of any kind.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • No need for IELTS or TOEFL tests.
  • Work five 8-hour days (40 hours per week).
  • 2 days’ paid leave per month.
  • No age limit for participation.

Supporting Documents

  • Valid ID card or passport.
  • University qualifications of studies completed before the deadline for applications.
  • Proof of university exchange programs abroad, participation in EU or international programs, seminars, or workshops.
  • Proof of all declared language skills (other than mother tongue/s).
  • Proof of all declared work experience.

Additional Points are given for:

  • Work experience (if any).
  • Work or volunteering experience abroad.
  • Rare fields of study.
