Applications are now open for the Jefferson Fellowship 2025, a fully funded international fellowship that will take you on a three-week study tour across Honolulu (USA), Indonesia, and Thailand from October 5-23, 2025. This exceptional fellowship is designed for journalists who are keen to explore and understand the cultural, economic, and environmental issues shaping the Indo-Pacific region.

The 2025 theme is "The Future of Food Security: Lessons from Southeast Asia", focusing on the challenges of food security in Southeast Asia, including climate change, rising prices, and disruptions in global supply chains. The fellowship provides full coverage of travel costs, accommodation, meals, and more, making it an unparalleled opportunity for journalists to deepen their knowledge of one of the most dynamic regions in the world.

โœ… Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Jefferson Fellowship, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Nationals from the Indo-Pacific region or U.S. citizens

  • Journalists (print, broadcast, or online) with at least 5 years of professional experience

  • Proficiency in English (professional setting)

  • A strong desire to generate content (print stories, blogs, social media posts) during and after the program

  • A commitment to exploring and reporting on food security issues in the region
