- Analysis of how Korea is presented in international educational materials (textbooks, websites, etc.)
- Proposals for improving Korea's image internationally
Notable Applications of Understanding Korea Materials
- Examples of effective use of Understanding Korea materials and suggestions for new materials
Prizes and Awards
- 2 Grand Prizes: 600,000 KRW and an Award Certificate presented by the Ministers of MOFA, MOE
- 4 Excellence Prizes: 400,000 KRW and an Award Certificate presented by the President of the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS)
- 6 Encouragement Prizes: 200,000 KRW and a Certificate presented by the Director of the Center for International Affairs
Eligibility
- Open to foreigners and Koreans living abroad
- Essays can be submitted in English or Korean
- Essay Length: Approximately 3 pages in A4 format
