The College of Medicine-Tucson, in collaboration with Medical Imaging and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, is pleased to announce the commencement of applications for the 2024-2025 Visiting Medical Student DEI Scholarship. This unique opportunity is tailored for fourth-year medical students from out-of-state who are keen on undertaking a general radiology elective.
Established with the aim of fostering diversity and inclusion within the field, the scholarship offers financial support to students from diverse backgrounds, thereby alleviating the financial burden associated with pursuing medical education.
Key Details:
- The scholarship provides a $1,500 stipend to cover travel expenses, including transportation, accommodation, and meals. Disbursement of funds is contingent upon the submission of relevant receipts.
- Additional perks include parking privileges near the hospital, a $150 meal card, mentorship from residents and faculty members, and ample networking opportunities with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and various medical school affinity groups.
- An important aspect of the scholarship is that all participants are guaranteed an interview for the residency program, although securing a residency position is not assured.
