Fellowship Period:
Selected fellows will embark on their research journey between April 2025 to March 2026.
Number of Fellows:
The MIF plans to select 15 exceptional applicants for the 2025 cohort. Over the past four decades, the MIF has welcomed over 850 researchers from 120 countries and regions, fostering international collaboration and scholarly exchange.
Benefits:
- Monthly Allowance: Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of JPY 220,000 to cover living expenses.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree at the time of application.
- Obtain an acceptance letter from a host institution in Japan.
- Age Requirement: Applicants should be 45 years old or younger at the application deadline.
- Previous Work Experience: Applicants must not have previously worked in Japan.
