Invitation for Proposals: Enhancing Socio-Economic Livelihoods in Northern Ghana

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), generously funded by the Governments of Denmark, Norway, and Australia, is inviting proposals from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in Northern Ghana. The aim is to support initiatives addressing the root causes of radicalization leading to violent extremism.

The objective of this Call for Proposals is to enlist NGOs to aid in implementing activities aimed at improving the socio-economic livelihoods of targeted communities, particularly focusing on women and youth. This endeavor seeks to tackle the underlying factors contributing to violent extremism in the Wa East (Buffiama), Sissala East district (Pido), Bole district (Nsunia), and Kasena-Nankana Municipality (Manyoro) in the Northern region of Ghana.

In today's globally interconnected landscape, the pursuit of sustainable peace and stability has assumed paramount importance. Communities worldwide grapple with the complex challenges posed by violent extremism. Acknowledging the imperative to address this pressing issue, endeavors are underway to empower communities through alternative livelihoods, recognized as a strategic tool in reducing susceptibility to violent extremism.

This Call for Proposals (CFP) is directly linked to the UNDP initiative titled "Preventing and Responding to Violent Extremism in the Atlantic Corridor." This project targets four countries along the Atlantic Corridor, with a particular emphasis on the Northern region of Ghana.
