Applications are now open for the United Nations Conference on LLDC3 Young Storytellers Fellowships, aimed at creative individuals between 18-35 years old from landlocked developing countries (LLDCs). This initiative seeks passionate storytellers to share digital content, such as photos or videos, highlighting the compelling narratives and distinctive experiences of young people in LLDCs.
Selected fellows will receive full funding to participate in the 3rd United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, scheduled to take place in Kigali in June 2024.
Requirements:
This opportunity is available to young individuals aged 18 to 35 from the 32 landlocked developing countries listed, including Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and more.
A storyteller is defined as someone who can effectively convey narratives. You do not need professional experience; what's essential is your ability to share meaningful stories through visuals.
Your story submission must be created by you and can be either a video or photo, adhering to specific technical specifications.
Benefits:
Selected fellows will participate in the Landlinked fellowship program preceding the conference, receiving professional cameras, training, and mentorship to enhance their storytelling skills.
A subset of fellows, ensuring geographical diversity, will be fully funded to showcase their work at LLDC3 in Kigali, a significant global gathering in 2024.
Application Process:
1. Prepare your content showcasing the stories and experiences of young people in LLDCs.
2. Upload your visuals on social media platforms between February 16 and March 8, tagging UN-OHRLLS and using the hashtag #LockedOut.
3. Stay engaged with the #LockedOut hashtag and encourage interaction with your submission.
4. Await notifications on selected submissions from OHRLLS's social media accounts.
Selection Process:
Entries will be evaluated based on storytelling quality, including arguments, composition, and writing. Consideration will be given to entrants whose native language is not English. The selection panel's decision will be final.
