Selected participants receive approximately GBP 30,000 annually to cover travel and living expenses, along with an additional GBP 2,000 contribution per year to the host institution. What is the McDonald Fellowship?

The McDonald Fellowship empowers early-career researchers from low- and middle-income countries to conduct research in a host institution outside their native country. During their tenure, fellows gain expertise or contribute to joint research projects. The funds can also support participation in PhD programs.


Benefits:

- Two-year grant: Approximately GBP 30,000 annually for living and travel expenses.

- Coverage: Includes travel costs to and within the host country, visa-related expenses, accommodation, insurance, utility bills, computer, phone/internet costs, and attendance at relevant meetings/workshops/conferences.

- Institutional contribution: An additional GBP 2,000 per year is allocated to the host institution.


Eligibility Criteria:

- Education: Hold a post-graduate degree (at least MSc, preferably PhD/MD) relevant to multiple sclerosis.

- Citizenship: Be citizens of a low- or middle-income country (as defined by the World Bank).

- Residence: Currently working or studying in a low- or middle-income country.
