Who Can Apply for KNB Scholarships in 2024?
The eligibility requirements for the KNB Scholarships for Bachelor’s (BS), Master’s (MS), and Doctoral (PhD) programs are as follows:
Bachelor’s Degree (BS) Eligibility:
- Age Limit: Applicants must be under 25 years old.
- Educational Background: Must hold a high school degree. Bachelor degree holders are not eligible to apply for another Bachelor’s degree.
- English Proficiency: Required test scores are TOEFL ITP: 477, TOEFL IBT: 53, IELTS: 5.5, or TOEIC: 510. However, those from English-speaking countries or those who have studied in English-taught programs may be exempted.
- Recommendation Letters: Must provide a recommendation letter from the Indonesian Embassy or the Indonesian Consulate General, and from the employer/immediate supervisor (if applicable).
- Academic Recommendation Letter: From previous schools.
- Citizenship Proof: Valid official passport.
- Online Application: Completion of the application form on the KNB Scholarship website.
Master’s Degree (MS) Eligibility:
- Age Limit: Applicants must be under 35 years old.
- Educational Background: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree. Master degree holders are not eligible to apply for another Master’s degree.
- English Proficiency: Required test scores are TOEFL ITP: 500, TOEFL IBT: 61, IELTS: 6.0, or TOEIC: 575. Exemptions apply similarly as in the Bachelor’s program.
- Recommendation Letters: Required from the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate General and from the employer/immediate supervisor (if applicable).
- Academic Recommendation Letter: From previous schools.
- Citizenship Proof: Valid official passport.
- Online Application: Must be completed on the KNB Scholarship website.
Doctoral Degree (PhD) Eligibility:
- Age Limit: Applicants must be under 40 years old.
- Educational Background: Must hold a Master’s degree. Doctorate degree holders are not eligible to apply for another Doctorate degree.
- English Proficiency: Required test scores are TOEFL ITP: 530, TOEFL IBT: 71, IELTS: 6.0, or TOEIC: 640. Exemptions are similar to the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs.
- Recommendation Letters: Required from the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate General, employer/immediate supervisor (if applicable), and potential research supervisor at one of the KNB partner universities.
- Statement of Purpose: For Doctoral applicants, detailing their study and research plans in Indonesia.
- Academic Recommendation Letter: From previous schools.
