About Gered Gereedschap
Gered Gereedschap, a Dutch NGO with a 40-year history, has consistently supported craftsmen and women in developing countries. Their projects aim to strengthen technical vocational education and entrepreneurship in Africa, providing practical, tangible, and comprehensive support, including tool sets, machines for schools, fully equipped sewing workshops, and education for technical vocational teachers.
Conditions
Focus Countries: Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, and Malawi.
Organizations: Applicants must operate in the specified countries.
Project Initiatives: Gered Gereedschap supports projects where the target group takes the initiative and remains actively involved in project preparation, decision-making, and implementation.
Logistics: Free transport of materials to the nearest international port is provided for tools, machines, or workshops. Landlocked countries receive overland transport to a capital. Costs of customs clearance and transport to the final destination are the responsibility of the applicant organization.
Support Scope: Gered Gereedschap does not offer financial support, agricultural equipment, or household appliances.
Responsibility for Rental Shops/Multipurpose Workshops: In cases of supply, the applicant organization is responsible for the operation, with a clear agreement between Gered Gereedschap and the receiving party outlining rights and obligations.
