The DESY Summer Student Program 2024 in Germany is an exciting opportunity for students to engage in an 8-week research training period at the DESY Laboratory. This program is open to bachelor's students, recent bachelor's graduates, and those currently pursuing master's degrees. The selected participants will conduct research in various fields at the DESY Laboratory in Hamburg or Zeuthen (Berlin). The program will take place from July 16 to September 5, 2024.
Program Benefits:

- Stipend: 1200 Euros/Month (sufficient for living expenses)
- Partial travel reimbursement from home country to Germany and back

DESY Program Fields:
Research projects cover a range of activities in fields such as:
- Photon science
- Elementary particle physics and accelerators
- Astroparticle physics
Projects may involve practical work on detectors or experimental equipment, physics data analysis, software development, theory, scientific computing, and natural science disciplines or computing.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- At least three years of full-time studies at the university level by the summer of 2024
- Target audience includes students about to obtain their bachelor’s degree or those with a bachelor’s degree currently in their master’s studies
- Applicants who already have a Master’s degree or will obtain it by summer 2024 are not eligible
Documents Required:
Applicants need to upload a single PDF document containing:
- CV (curriculum vitae)
- University-grade certificates (e.g., bachelor’s certificate, credit points, etc.)
- Two reference letters
Applicants from non-EU and non-EEA countries need to upload a separate PDF document containing:
- Copy of international passport
- Certificate of enrollment provided by the university covering the program period
- "Declaration of Certificate of Enrollment" signed and stamped by the university, covering the same period
Outcome of Application:
All applicants will be notified of the outcome by the end of March.
