Internship Departments:

1. Foreign Policy and Democracy:

   - Suitable for students with a background in international relations, public policy, history, or German and European politics.

2. Development and Digital Policy Intern:

   - Ideal for students or recent graduates interested in global development and digital policy. Backgrounds in public policy, international relations, law, economics, development studies, or related fields are preferred.

Benefits:

- Monthly stipend of $700 for full-time positions (proportionally less for part-time)

- 5 paid vacation days per 3-month period for full-time internships

- Visa costs covered by the Foundation

Internship Requirements:

- Experience in at least one of the program areas

- Proficient in English

- Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week for 3 to 6 months (part-time considered on a case-by-case basis)

- Completed at least 2 years of university-level experience

- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program OR recent (< 1 year) Bachelor’s degree recipients

Intern Responsibilities:

Administrative Responsibilities:

- Logistical support for visitor programs and events

- Front desk duties (answering telephones, responding to inquiries)

- Management of contact and program-specific databases

 

Communications:

- Development of social media content and communication strategies

- Updating content on the website and blogs

Research:

- Background research on topical issues and current events

- Preparation of research for upcoming events, tours, and speaker’s series

Capstone Project:

- Completion of a capstone project on a self-chosen topic, which may include a policy paper, expert interview, explanatory video script, or a series of blog posts.

Deadline:

The deadline for internship applications is January 10th, 2024. The earliest start date for the internship will be February 2024.
