Who does not Need a Visa for Slovenia?
You don’t need a Work Visa for Slovenia if you can satisfy one of the following conditions:
- You are an EU/EEA citizen.
- Your family member is a Slovenian citizen.
- You are from a non-EU/EEA country but have a permanent residence permit.
- You are from a non-EU/EEA country, but you have long-term residency from another EU country and have lived in Slovenia for at least one year.

1) Slovenia Single Work Permit
You can apply for a Single work permit if you have found work in Slovenia and you have a valid contract letter from your employer who offered you a Job. If the Slovenia embassy is not available in your country then your employer can apply for you on your behalf from within the country.
2) Work Permit for Self Employed
If you own a company and want to work in Slovenia.
3) Seasonal Work Visa
You can apply for this Visa if you want to do seasonal work up to 90 days. Work in agriculture or forestry according to the seasons. If you want to stay longer than 90 days then you must apply for the Single Work permit.
4) Slovenia Job Seeker Visa (Type D)
Job seekers can also apply for the Slovenia Type D Visa. This Visa is known as a long-stay or national visa, and it allows you to stay in Slovenia for longer than 90 days to study, work, or join a family member.
Perks of Type D Visa:
- You can stay longer for one year
- You need a strong reason to apply for this Visa
- A job offer for this Visa is not required
- D Visa is for work or study purposes
Convert the Job seeker visa into a residence permit. The residence permit will be valid for 1 year. Then you can renew it for 3 years. After 5 years you can apply for the Permanent Residency.
5) EU Blue Card
The EU Blue card is issued to highly qualified individuals in certain fields and is accepted by Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.
On this Card, you are allowed to work in any EU Country.
How to Apply for a Slovenia Work Visa?

- Apply for the visa at the embassy.
Alternative Method: Your employer can submit an application for a work permit on your behalf at a local administrative unit in Slovenia. This is possible if the Slovenian embassy is not available in your country.

Slovenia Permanent Residency
You can apply for a permanent residence permit within five years of residence in Slovenia. You can get this by renewing your work permit for 5 years.
