Type of Scholarships:
There are two types of Scholarships Heinrich Boll Foundation(Undergraduate, Master)
- Promotion Scholarship (Doctoral).
- For German/foreign students studying in Germany: First degree (Bachelor) only.
- EU citizens/students who did not study in Germany: Master’s degree only
- Non-EU citizens/students1 who did not study in Germany: Master’s degree only
Selection Procedure, Stages & Criteria:
The Heinrich Boll Foundation international scholarship in Germany consists of the following three phases:
- Submission of written application documents.
- Interview with Liaison Instructor (a telephone interview may also be conducted).
- Participation in selected workshop in Berlin including one-on-one interview and group discussion.
- There is no age limit.
Documents Required:
To apply for the German Scholarships for International Students, applicants must submit the following documents.
- Application Form
- University Admission Certificate or equivalent
- If you have already started your education, then list of latest educational certificates.
- Scholarship for foreign applicants studying for master’s degree: Attested copy of your first degree certificate.
- Student registration certificate
- Written proof of German language proficiency. Minimum DSH 2 or B2 level
- An expert reference from a university or college lecturer.
- A third-party reference on your social affiliation
Application Requirements:
- Required German language certificate (B2 or DSH)
- High school grades and academic status; Proof of first class academic progress upon request.
- Social involvement and interest in politics
- Identification with the goals of the foundation
- Responsible, motivated, reliable individuals willing to play an active role in the work of the Foundation.
Application Deadline:
The application deadline for the Heinrich Boll Foundation Awards 2023-24 in Germany is March 1, 2023. With these dates applications open 6 weeks before the deadline each year.
