The United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA), with financial support from the Government of Germany, is inviting young people to apply for the 2nd edition of the United Nations Youth Champions for Disarmament Training Programme. This innovative learning program is designed to empower youth to work for disarmament in their communities.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be between 18 and 24 years old.
- Interested in participating in a learning program to advocate for peace, disarmament, non-proliferation, and arms control.
- Willing to take part in a face-to-face regional workshop and travel to the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
Program Details:
- 15 young people will be selected to participate in the program, which introduces a regional focus.
- The training program will bring together a geographically diverse group of young disarmament advocates, allowing them to share regional perspectives.
- Participants will receive training in the general principles of disarmament, non-proliferation, and arms control, along with its linkages to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
- Regular exchanges with experts from think tanks, civil society organizations, and the diplomatic field will be facilitated by UNODA.
- The program includes regional workshops and youth forums.
- Three job opportunities with UNODA for young professionals are built into the training program to support its implementation at regional levels.

4. The selected 15 Youth Champions will be invited to present their perspectives at an event at the UN Headquarters.
